River & Plains

Combining the Lower Zambezi & Kafue National Parks (8 Nights)

Explore the pristine and remote Lower Zambezi National Park before flying to Kafue National Park, the oldest park in Zambia and one of the largest in Africa.

Combine two of Zambia’s great wilderness areas into one epic safari! Let the Mighty Zambezi river captivate you with her beauty and power, canoe down tranquil channels, try your hand at angling and soak up the infamous sunsets. Explore the wonder of the Winterthorn forests and its plethora of wildlife, spend memorable moments with elephants, and traverse the wild beauty of the Lower Zambezi from sunrise to sunset by land or water. Life at Royal Zambezi Lodge is truly ‘where luxury meets the wild.’

Then let the unique landscape of the Busanga Plains mesmerize you with her vastness. Lechwe and puku stand in their hundreds as far as the eye can see, and water channels carved into the dried plains give a home to hippos and water birds. This remote part of Kafue National Park is known as lion country, with many prides prowling the open grasslands. A rich ecosystem filled with life, this is a unique land like no other. Rise with the sun sipping coffee around the campfire, and watch as the mist lifts to unveil scenes of the wilderness; perhaps a lioness and her cubs walk past the camp en route to find shade or a hippo fight unfolds.. it has happened before. Mukambi Safaris Busanga Plains Camp is truly ‘ unique by nature.’
